Jonathan Silveira is a dedicated community leader who brings people together and gets results.
While a student at Simon Fraser, he was a strong voice in the Canadian Federation of Students, and sat on the university’s board of governors – where he was instrumental in negotiating the UPASS.
Now living in Surrey with his wife and daughter, Jonathan continues to advocate for his community.
In 2014, Jonathan founded Surrey Kids Matter, as a way to bring community members together to push for improvements to education, for every kid.
Jonathan ran for the BC NDP earlier this year, and continued to advocate for his community throughout the campaign – participating in seven debates, and speaking with thousands of community members.
Jonathan has seen the improvements the NDP are making across BC. But there’s still much more to do. Too many people are working hard but still can’t get ahead. That’s why he’s standing with Jagmeet Singh and Canada’s NDP.
Jonathan believes that we can build a fairer, more just Canada – where everyone can get ahead.
